Profession: Mr. Jump is an actor, with years of experience in the theater, on television and radio, and in commercials, most notably as the Maytag Repairman, whom hes played for nine years. He is also well-known for his portrayal of Mr. Carlson, the station manager on the television program, WKRP in Cincinnati. Mr. Jump also teaches acting and voice-over work at the Del Mar Media Arts, an accredited acting school.

History of diabetes: Mr. Jump was diagnosed with non-insulin-dependent diabetes (type II diabetes) in 1984 and used oral medications to control his disease. In 1994, Mr. Jump was prescribed insulin in order to combat fluctuating blood sugar levels and avoid serious complications. Currently, Mr. Jump relies on both insulin and oral medications to manage his disease. He also attends classes on nutrition and self- management to learn methods of keeping his diabetes in good control. Mr. Jump is fortunate to have the majority of his diabetes expenses covered by insurance he carries through two actors unions.
